Although I’ve owned several Macs since 1984, I’m not a computer Geek. I’m a writer who still uses PageMaker DTP on my PowerMac OS9 laptop because I’m not happy with the Adobe upgraded InDesign.

My main eTablet concern is how well iMac performs using non-Apple product. If it would go as smoothly as an iPad, I would seriously consider buying the HP Slate. But if the Slate runs like my former HP “Mac compatible” complete office machine, I would have to opt out.

Hey Kevin – one correction…the Constellation ES drive is not SATA 3.0 (SATA 6Gb/s). It’s actually a SATA 2.0 (3Gb/s) drive. The 6Gb/s you may be referring to is the 6Gb SAS interface this drive also features. Two flavors of Constellation ES: 6Gb SAS (SAS 2.0) or 3Gb SATA (SATA 2.0). Just a heads up….thanks.

i don’t think a vertical slider looks good on a blackberry. I own a bb 9700 and sometimes a wish that a landscape keyboard could be a boon. especially while surfing on the net.

BB needs to be more net friendly and not just email.

Looks like I am not alone. Upgrade my iPhone from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 with terrible results. Battery life has dropped to around 3hrs without any use and the phone is running hot.
I’ve done the usual thinks of restoring the phone and reloading backup without any improvement. I’ll now try gradually turning things off to see if I can determine whether any particular feature may be the source of the probelm (location services, bluetooth, email push etc).

@domforth, when at an event such as the one I was at making calls proved difficult and I have to say I didn’t see other’s there (and there were some pretty big names) making calls either. In a review, yes, in a hands on in front of SE reps, no (and I was not alone in not doing so either)

ok so let me get this right…Astro is trying to convince people that a gamer needs a $150 stereo headset that requires an upgrade to the $230 package with amplifier to use on the PS3? They push the surround sound thing so much but you still need the amplifier! It’s not $150, it’s $230! Astro’s A40 was WAY overhyped, so the A30 will be no different. Come on Astro, are you serious?

@Ubernerd, what Telia have in Stockholm and Oslo is not 4G, they call it that but it isn’t. Just a marketing plot to put competitor Tre (3, as in 3G) in a bad place (one step behind). The 4G net is actually still part of 3GPP LTE – Long Term Evolution, also called 3.9G… like EDGE for GPRS in 2G.

Yes, I have the same problem with the battery life after upgrading to 3.1.3. Used to be able to last for 2-3 days but now need to charge everyday even with very little usage. Horrible. Anyone knows how to revert back to 3.1.2? My 3GS is not jailbreak and I just want to go back to the previous firmware. Thanks.

@Oliver @Chris Borderlinx opened an international concierge service for the iPad.
Customer just need to choose the iPad he want to order and the concierge will handle the order on the US Apple store for him. No need to have an US credit card or to use an IP proxy.

Ditto here with the battery problems, plus it just seems more buggy than before – sometimes I can’t pick up calls, or it takes a while before the call is terminated when I press ‘End Call’. Also service seems to come and go suddenly… and my phone is 2 months old, never been jailbroken or anything…

Why oh why Apple did you do this, just to catch out some jailbreak users who probably didn’t even upgrade anyway?

According to a website in Russia Motorola mistakenly swapped letters ‘Э’ and ‘З’ on the localized Milestone’s physical keyboard and “fixed” this issue programmatically instead of producing correct keyboards. Phew.

Every since this up date battery always say 20% or 10% everytime cutting my phone on but battery do rises after booting up. Battery do last longer if charge completely but I do say this firmware do needs 72% work still done on it cause still cause apps to close and freeze. The notifacations don’t work as well as it use to, so it really needs major work apple you really need to fix these bugs and stop just put firmware that’s not doing what it said it will do

I’m sure these are all bogus numbers designed to deceive consumers and the market. Nobody really cares about the iPad period. Everyone I’ve spoken to don’t think they’ll be buying or want an iPad. Call the majority of college students haters or even business users haters..but the facts show up clearly in the polls: iPad is not practical or appealing to the majority of consumers. It’s just not worth carrying around an oversized iPhone when the iPhone or even a Palm Pre, Android mobile device is sufficient enough to get what you need done.

My apple store invoice says sale made at 5:31 PST on the 12th , Ive had a iPhone 2G,3G and Now a 3GS.. I plan on using My 32 GB WiFi Model until the 64GB 3G Version comes in then I’ll ebay the WiFi .. as many times as the iPhone has helped Me as an IT Manager I’m sure the iPad 3G with Be even better (60 Year Old Eyes will appreciate the Bigger Screen)
