Paying homage to the Porsche 356 Speedster, the new 9ff Speed9 has added a bunch of mods to the already powerful Porsche 997 Turbo, that help bring more power and improved handling.

Rumors have it that Toyota may have a Prius sports wagon or a SUV model in the works. Apparently, ever since the new Toyota Hybrid X Concept saw daylight at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, the car manufacturer has considered coming up with a new Prius Wagon that would appeal to the green minded somewhere in 2011 or 2012.

Citroen wouldn’t like to lose market share against those manufacturers that have already tackled the green minded with their new models, hence why the French car builder has announced a new electric vehicle concept that is meant to harm the environment as little as possible. Not that the Honda Civic Type R isn’t bad ass on its own, the British tuners from MUGEN Euro have taken a shot at turning the super hatch into an exclusive, hand-built race car for the road. Built in a limited edition of only 30 units, the new Civic Type R MUGEN features a bunch of tweaks that help the 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine to improve by 20-percent over the stock version, putting out a good 240hp.

Although this year’s Tokyo Motor Show is focusing on green cars that cause little or no harm to the environment, some companies have used the old recipe for car tuning, and with great success we may add. One of the models that into our eyes with its aggressiveness is the upgraded Subaru Impreza WRX STI Carbon — a new variant based of the A-Line model, that gets a carbon roof that has reduced the weight significantly and lowered the centre of gravity, for better grip while on the road.

TomTom have officially announced their latest, in-dah PNF, known as the TomTom GO I-90, which the company bill as being an ‘integrated navigation infotainment solution’ on account of it serving not only as a navigational aid but also boasting an integrated amplifier, AM/FM radio, RDS, a built in TMC receiver and, thanks to built-in USB connectivity, iPod (or other DAP/PMP) friendliness.

We at TFTS have managed to get a good look at the new Opel Insignia (or Vauxhall Insignia) and we can definitely vouch that there’s a good reason why it won the European Car of the Year title in 2008. If up until now our friends from across the lake have never got behind the wheel of the Insignia, things are about to change as GM has officially confirmed that the Buick Regal, which is the same car as the Chinese Insignia, is going to be brought back to the production lines and will launch in 2010 as a 2011 model.

Road going cars that are capable of taking to the water, thus being amphibious, are nothing new, but what makes the WaterCar Python Amphibious Car particularly impressive (aside from how much it’ll set you back – more on that later) is that it just happens to be the world’s fastest amphibious car in being capable of not only 0-60mph in a mere 4.5 seconds on the road but also being capable of powering you along at some 60mph on the water – thus making other amphibious cars seem decidedly sedate when on the water by comparison.

Renderings of a new Audi electric concept have found their way online about two weeks ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, and although the company failed at giving more details, the new e-Tron’s grand debut has managed (not that it would be hard) to cause some serious drooling to all those laying eyes on it.

Today, Boeing have announced that their 747-8 Freighter program is suffering further delays as production costs have gone North due to design issues. Delaying the first flight and delivery on their commercial aircraft unit to 2010 instead of Q4 2009, means that the company will take a nearly $1 billion third-quarter charge which is a big blow to the world’s second-largest aircraft-maker.
