Scripted entirely in DHTML this free online version is an extremely faithful portrayal of the original 80’s game – none of that 3D Lemmings nonsense – that had many of us pulling our hair out whilst those little, green-haired lemmings seemed utterly intent on committing suicide all over the screen.

You can travel back in time and try once again in vain to save those moronic creatures by equipping them with umbrellas, dynamite and pickaxes – to name but a few – by clicking here.

Initially the puzzle is so easy that you just know that its going to get almost impossible is just a few rounds, and in that respect Pointer doesn’t disappoint. In fact, by level eight things start getting a little crazy. But it’s harmless run with a distinctly retro flavour.

Goggles cites itself as being a flight simulator based on Google Maps and, whilst it’s about as much of a simulator in the true sense of the word as I am funny, it’s a brilliant idea and no doubt will give all young children and lethargic adults whole minutes of sheer, harmless fun.

Using your cursor keys you get to fly your prop plane across various locations in the world, such as London, New York, Washington, Dublin, Zurich, Amsterdam, Madrid and so on. I am, however, taking leave of absence from this site on account of the fact that my wife spotted me waving to a car as I executed an accomplished figure-of-eight manoeuvre over a residential district of Sydney following a quick five minutes flying across Mars (Mars and the Moon are also featured).
