Personally, if I were not already married, I’d feel somewhat more confident of getting away with my vitals still intact proposing with a ring-pull than I would proposing with this USB Flash Drive Swarovski Crystal Engagement Ring but, if you’re a braver man than I, and you happen to want to use your proposal of marriage to also define your geek credentials, this ring could be just the ticket.

We’re at somewhat of a loss as far as this seemingly curious gadget is concerned as we cannot quite fathom why you would want an LCD display stuck to the inside of your car’s rear window displaying your phone number – unless, of course, you’ve looked in the mirror and caught the eye of a particularly fine blonde behind (then, and only then, it would make total sense).

Created as an experiment by Billy Chasen who cites those exploded diagrams of objects as inspiration, though we agree with a commenter that comparisons can also be drawn with some of Damien Hirst’s installations (particularly his animal installations), this exploded iPod MP3 player cast in clear resin purportedly still functions and is sure to appeal to all the deconstructivists amongst you.

According to the manufactures of the Exideal, displaying a series of coloured patterns via a screen composing of 280 LEDs, whilst looking like a bizarre animated homage to particularly awful wallpaper of bygone eras, actually has health benefits and can even ‘permeate the vitamins and collagen in your skin’ thus making you ‘beautiful from the inside’ – a claim which strikes us as being, at best, seemingly rather fanciful.

On the few occasions that the sun shines enough for us to venture into the big outdoors for a walk in the country or a camping expedition we find it impossible not to notice that two are two distant groups of campers/hikers, and they are as follows: The ones who make do and experience the down to earth living that is surely the entire charm of such trips, and those who seem to pack up the entire house and every single one of their mod-cons only to spread is across a field somewhere before getting out the battery powered portable TV.
