Sony’s highly desirable 10.2 megapixel Alpha A200 DSLR, successor to Sony’s A100 DSLR, has been named as the ‘Best Entry-level DSLR in Europe’ at the prestigious TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) awards according to a press release just hitting the wires.

According to Reuters, the company behind the enormously popular Flip Video YouTube/Blogging camcorder, Pure Digital Technology, is facing a patent suit in relation to the camcorders image compression software which, according to New York company Advanced Video Technologies, they hold the patent for and has been used without consent.

Nikon have announced a new addition to its CoolPix range of digital cameras in the form of the superzoom, high performance 10 megapixel CoolPix P80 featuring a 27-486mm NIKKOR lens offering 18x optical zoom, Nikon’s sensor based VR image stabilisation and Expeed processing technologies as well as full auto/manual capabilities.
