Having just splashed out a fair whack of money to get my hands on Canon’s new (and shockingly impressive, I might add) EOS 7D I now feel somewhat stupid as, for a faction of the cost I could have opted for this DSi Studio Kit from Thrustmater that comes not only with a macro and a wide angle lens, but also a removable flash and no less than 6 color lenses. Well, how stupid do I feel?

Ricoh has now gone official concerning its new Ricoh GXR Interchangeable Unit Camera which, thanks to utilising innovative interchangeable unit camera systems, which comprise of lens, image sensor, and image processing engine housed within single units (thus leaving the camera sensor free), which will see not only ideal matching of lens and sensor types that are, assumedly, perfectly calibrated but which will wholly circumvent issues such as dust and other foreign particles impacting on imagery.

Other than yesterday’s Olympus E-P2 Micro Four Thirds camera, we’ll have to agree that our specially created category for photo buffs, has been pretty lonely as of late. However, here’s a little something to appeal to those looking to buy a new Sony. Apparently the not-yet-official Sony Alpha A750 has made an appearance in the company’s DSLR range, on one of the company’s registration pages, and rumors have it that the camera will be released soon.

Although it hit the market a few months ago, Olympus’ E-P1 micro four thirds camera is getting an upgrade. Our TFTS elves have done their job and they found that the Olympus China website has the successor, the new Olympus E-P2, listed for the whole world to see it. Count into equation that the company is planning an event on October 31 and there you go, we may get an official announcement on Saturday regarding the new shooter.

I’ll admit from the start that digital photo frames aren’t included in my favorite gadgets list. And I’m particularly annoyed with digital photo frames that pitch other features to us. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t want my digital photo frame to double as a TV, wireless printer or a phone. I’d want it to do one simple thing: show me slideshows and pictures starring the ones I love.

Having just posted concerning Canon officially announcing their new EOS-1D Mark IV we follow up with a brief heads up for those of you who own the Canon EOS 5D Mark II as Canon have confirmed that they are currently working on a firmware update that’ll serve to ramp up the EOS 5D Mark II’s capabilities in allowing for 1080p (Full HD) full frame movie capture at both 24 and 25 frames per second.
