Philips have just gotten us a new toy to play with. Dubbed Philips SA075, it’s a new portable media player that joins the HD-capable crowd there is out there. Although not much is known so far about this little fellow, rumors have it that the SA075 features a relatively large touchscreen display that boasts a 800×600 pixels resolution and 24 bit 16-million-colors.

Another great feature of the new PMP is the HDMI port that helps streaming high definition videos directly to your HDTV or HD monitor, whenever you want. And speaking of HD video playback, it’s not sure if the Philips SA075 will do it in 720p or full 1080p quality, but we can at least dream of the latter.

All these sound like pretty interesting features that manage to get you into buying mood, but the sad thing, there’s no word concerning either availability or at least a price tag to get an idea. But don’t you worry, we’ll keep an eye on the new Philips Sa075 and soon as we have more specs coming, we’ll update you.

I remember the days when I wanted a mobile phone with a camera to take pictures wherever I was. But they never had the quality I was looking for, so that’s when I bought a digital camera, too. However, looking at the newly announced Samsung SCH-W880, it certainly looks like a capable device that will act both as a mobile phone and a camera.

Looking more like a digital camera with a phone, the new Samsung W880 is probably a follow up to the company’s Pixon 12. Hence why there’s a 12 megapixel resolution camera with a 3x optical zoom, that should deliver higher quality pictures than the average handsets.

Other than its photo-features, the 3G capable Samsung M8920 (SCH-W880) features a 3.3-inch AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, HD video recording (at 720p, probably), HSDPA data access, GPS,  a microSD for memory expansion, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

No word concerning availability or price, but given the built-in DMB TV tuner, that certainly hints to Korea, so no US and Europe for the new Samsung W880. Doesn’t it?

Those not affected by the financial crisis, with cash on hand, who’d never use an iPhone, a BlackBerry or any of the Android smartphone that get released everyday should really consider the new Vertu Constellation Ayxta Flip Phone. More like a luxurious accessory than a mobile phone, the new Constellation Ayxta is not just an overly expensive handset (the first “flipper” in Vertu’s collection) but one that impresses with its looks.

Although we only have images to get drunk with, we managed to learn that other than looking nothing short of sleek the new Vertu Constellation Ayxta features Vertu Select — an online service with exclusive “lifestyle information” about cities (restaurants, pubs, bars, places to have fun, etc). City Brief service that gives it information about certain cities you’re visiting.

Vertu’s first clamshell mobile is rumored to come with a 3 megapixel camera (with integrated twin LED flash), a microSD card slot, a microUSB port and 3G Internet connectivity.

Priced between 4,900 and 6,500 Euros depending on its build, we’re pretty sure only the filthy rich will flock to bring a Vertu Constellation Ayxta home — which they should as the new handset is already available. Meanwhile we’re stuck with our uncool but highly functional smartphones in here, eh?

Today, AT&T is rolling out the iPhone MMS feature, meaning that “late morning” Pacific Time users get to download the new MMS carrier settings from iTunes and, if things work smoothly, will be able to start sending picture messages right away.

Although they’ve done a great job in waiting for the whole deal, AT&T announced on Facebook that it’s official, US users are getting multimedia messages on their iPhones. “We know you’ve been eager for this service so we wanted to offer a quick update on the launch plans for MMS on Friday, Sept. 25. Late morning, Pacific Time, on Friday, the new carrier settings update enabling MMS should be live and ready …to download through iTunes. We’ll provide the steps and all of the details you need right here at that time,” they said.

Although the news brings a smile to our faces, two issues come to mind. First one is the fact that some have reported that they already got the iPhone update, but MMS is not working for them. Another interesting approach is that the “record volumes” of messages that are expected to pour in are going to bring AT&T’s network down.

Be it cars or watches, there is something about the matte black paint job that steals a man’s heart. And speaking of matte black check out the latest timepiece coming from Swiss watchmaker Fortis. Dubbed Fortis B-42 Black & Black, the automatic watch is expected to be available in a limited edition of only 2012 pieces. Don’t ask us why only 2012 because we don’t know it, what we know is that it certainly makes for an elegant accessory to any modern man’s wrist.

The new Fortis B-42 Black & Black comes with a 42mm wide titanium case coated with black PVD that features the Russian Space program engravings on the back. Adding to the cool factor, there’s also a rotating unidirectional turning bezel with 60-minute scale, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a Swiss automatic ETA 2836-2 movement and stylish hands covered with SuperLumiNova that makes them glow.

Water resistant to 200 meters, the new Fortis B-42 Black & Black will be available with a choice of leather or a black rubber strap. Looks nothing short of charming.

If we’re to believe the analysts, it looks like in the US the financial crisis is slowly coming to an end and this year’s holiday shopping season is going to prove it. With that in mind and to please their users, Apple has asked its Cupertino designers to come up with an updated/upgraded version for their iMacs lineup by featuring not only a more affordable price but also a thinnerindustrial design overhaul with a different chassis that mimics the company’s new Cinema Displays

Already finished earlier in September, the redesigned iMacs are expected to add a set of features that were not available to previous models — with some saying that they’re going to come bundled with Blu-ray drives, although that would mean a higher price to pay. Specs wise, it’s the same all-in-one, dual-core desktop computer, but this time we’re being told that it may cater to the semi-professional audiophiles.

No official word on this, so better take it with a pinch of salt. What’s for sure is that the new iMacs are definitely going to get the eye of any geek, one way or another.

Sprint has finally managed to secure the new Samsung Instinct HD on their network. The official statement just came in today and it looks like Sprint’s Instinct HD is going to appeal to your entertainment needs with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a high definition 5 megapixel camera (and camcorder), with HD video playback (via a TV-out port) and recording.

Coming with an attractive and intuitive user interface as well as the high-speed connectivity on Sprint’s 3G network (EVDO Rev. A), the new Samsung Instinct HD also features a full Opera Mobile 9.7 browser, Wi-Fi and advanced stereo Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, an Ambient Light Sensor, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor with haptic feedback while using the virtual QWERTY keyboard.

Other than these, it offers easy access to social networking sites like Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.

The new Samsung Instinct HD will be available on Best Buy starting from September 24th, while on Sprint’s retail stores the release date is set for October 11th. As for its price, Sprint is expected to sell it for $249.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract. Sounds a bit steep, eh?

Just yesterday Alex was talking about netbooks that are getting more powerful by the day (explaining the new Viliv S12 a bit), well, today we have just learned that the new HP Mini 311 has been officially introduced running on NVIDIA’s Ion Platform.

The new Mini 311 is the world’s first netbook with NVIDIA’s Ion, that actually ships. It comes with a large 11.6-inch HD display, an Nvidia ION LE graphics card that does 1080p HD video playback, a built-in VGA and HDMI ports that allows you to connect to your HDTV or to an external monitor.

Adding to the goodies list, the Ion-based Mini 311 features a near-full-size (92%) keyboard that makes typing easy, a full-size intuitive touchpad with buttons, a VGA webcam and Altec Lansing HD speakers. The netbook runs on Intel Atom processors, has 1GB of RAM (that could be improved to be honest), 160GB of HDD, an integrated 5-in-1 digital media card reader and an optional Blu-ray drive.
