Battlefield 3 iOS Game Disappears From App Store

EA Pulls BF3 iPhone Game Because It's Terrible, EA Mobile Promises Only Good Games From Now On

EA has had a lot of success with some of their mobile games on iOS devices. The Mirror’s Edge game on iOS may be more popular than the actual console/PC game that came out a few years ago. At any rate, the EA games on the iOS App Store are not all winners, and it’s being reported today that EA has pulled the Battlefield 3 iOS tie-in, entitled Battlefield 3: Aftershock, from the App Store due to “low quality”.

Just after folks noticed that BF3: Aftershock, disappeared from the App Store, gaming news site IGN got word from the folks at Electronic Arts that EA is “committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences”, and they’ve decided to pull the game from the App Store. EA added that they are re-evaluating the game after customer feedback, and said that a better BF3 game for the iPhone and iPad would be coming later this year.

For those out of the know, Battlefield 3: Aftershock, was a free shooter that was sponsored by the new film Act of Valor, which used real US Navy SEALs in its filming. The game was not well received. It was averaging a 2.5-star rating on the App Store. There were complaints of bugs, poor controls and the multiplayer connectivity not functioning correctly.

The game was developed by Digital Legends Entertainment, company based in  Spain. Some other mobile games they’ve developed included the iOS and Android version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, as well as the iOS game Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior.
