iPhone 4S Unlock Available Via New Gevey Ultra S SIM Interposer

If there’s one battle that Apple almost won with iOS hackers, that’s the iPhone unlocking fight. Starting with the iPhone 4 (most basebands) hackers were not able to provide unlock programs to the masses, even though jailbreaking the device was possible.

Similarly, the iPhone 4S has been jailbroken a few months after hitting stores, but hackers, despite looking for an unlock solution, are yet to release such a tool. While such procedures will most likely void your warranty with Apple, the fact remains that jailbreaking, unlocking and rooting are legal options for smartphone buyers, at least for now, and buyers that have an iPhone 4S have the option of using it with a different carrier if they so desire.

One option to unlock the phone is to check back with your carrier, as in certain situations they will unlock the handset. The other option is to consider buying a Gevey Ultra S gadget, a SIM interposer that will let you unlock your current iPhone 4S device. In fact, this is the second SIM interposer for the iPhone 4S that we’ve seen in just a few weeks after the recently unveiled TPSIM solution.
