C25K 5K Trainer iPhone App Promises To Get You From The Couch To Running 3.1 Miles In Just 8 Weeks
Despite the iPhone being a phone, there are obviously plenty of other uses which come by way of the apps. And while many will think of gaming, movie watching and music listening to name a few — the iPhone can also be used as a trainer. Yup, there are more than a few exercise related training apps available.

That being said, while I am choosing to mention one such training app here — it is up to you to make sure you are healthy enough to use it. And with the basic warning out of the way, the app is called C25K 5K Trainer. Which for those not familiar with the lingo there, C25K stands for Couch to 5K. In other words, this app is a training app designed to get you from the couch to running a 5K (3.1 mile) race in just 8 weeks time.
The app is available in a free ad-supported version as well as an ad-free version that sells for $0.99. Though, truth be told, I would suggest getting the free version for a few reasons. First, both apps have the same features. Second, if you decide you like the app and simply want to ditch the ads, you can do so with a $0.99 in-app purchase.
Otherwise, with the basic premise and pricing details out of the way, lets get into the real features of the C25K 5K Trainer app. The app is noted as offering a “proven” 8 week program with other goodies to include audio coaching during your runs, compatibility with Nike+ GPS and social integration so you can share your progress with friends and family. That being said, the feature list reads as follows;

- Proven 8 week program to get you running 5k
- Easiest 5k program at only 3 times/week
- Listen to your own favorite music and playlists while you train
- Easy and intuitive interface. Nothing to learn!
- Convenient audio coach and alerts
- Compatible with Nike+ GPS
- Integrated with Facebook and Twitter communities. Meet other runners!
- The only C25K app that works accurately while your device is locked!
