Spec Ops: The Line Release Date Announced By Take-Two
Do you remember Spec Ops: The Line? The military shooter from Take-Two Interactive has been delayed for years and years now, but it was recently announced that the development team had completely reworked the game and added a sort of “Heart of Darkness” mood to the game, which has the player playing as Delta Force commandos sent into post-apocalyptic Dubai. Now, after many delays, Take-Two has announced the game is coming out this June.

Take-Two made the announcement via a press release they issued today. You can expect the US version the game to drop on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 26, while international markets will get it on June 29. Like we’ve seen with a few retailers and games, if you pre-order the game, you’ll automatically get upgraded to the “Premium Edition” of the game.
The bonuses included in the Premium Edition are primarily just extra content for the game’s multiplayer mode. The bonuses include things like double XP the first week the game is out, you unlock the AK-47 from the start, and you get the “FUBAR Pack” which lets you decorate your multiplayer character in special ways that other players won’t be able to.
Denby Grace, senior producer at 2K Games, said this in a statement:
We’re delighted to officially announce the first details about the multiplayer in Spec Ops: The Line. In addition, people who pre-order the game are going to have an immediate advantage in the multiplayer mode.
If that doesn’t move the meter on those pre-order sales, I don’t know what will.
