New Max Payne 3 Trailer Released, Reveals More Story

New Trailer From Rockstar Reveals Max Payne's Mission In Brazil, Gritty Game Starring Ex-Cop Coming May 15th

I don’t think many people were surprised when Max Payne 3 was “delayed” to May. After all, Rockstar Games has owned the month for years now with blockbuster game releases like L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption. They’ll be doing it this May too, with Max Payne 3, and now they’ve released a new trailer that has revealed a bit more about what Max Payne is doing in Brazil. It looks like he isn’t just on vacation after all.

We will embed the trailer below, but as you can see, it involves Max Payne working for some businessman type who may or may not be involved in criminal activities and searching all the Brazilian favelas for this businessman’s trophy wife. While Remedy Entertainment did the first two Max Payne games (they went on to do Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare for Microsoft on the Xbox 360), Rockstar is doing Max Payne 3 for themselves, and the story is being penned by Sam Hauser, best known as one of the brothers behind the GTA franchise. That may not end up being a bad thing though, as Hauser is responsible for other critically acclaimed Rockstar game stories, like the ones in GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption.

Is anybody else getting a serious Breaking Bad / Kane & Lynch vibe from this trailer? Either way, Max Payne is Rockstar’s big release of the year and should be quite the blockbuster. It’s set to come out on May 15th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and May 29th for the PC version.
