Kindle & Twitter Apps Coming To The BlackBerry PlayBook, Or So Says Best Buy
As far as apps goes, at this point it feels a bit strange when a device does not have some of the more commonly found. You know, items such as Angry Birds and Facebook as well as Twitter and Kindle. Of course, on the flip side of that, it does not seem as strange if some of those are missing when you are referring to the BlackBerry PlayBook.

And before anyone thinks this a a PlayBook bashing post, worry not — I actually enjoy the tablet myself and this post is more to the tune of what apps could be coming available. Or more specifically, a few apps that may be available around the time of the PlayBook OS 2.0 launch — according to Best Buy Canada.
The details on this one are rather simple and include a product “Showcase” page on the Best Buy Canada website. The page is a teaser for the PlayBook OS 2.0 release and not only does it tip that update as “coming soon” but is also mentioned the still mussing Kindle and Twitter apps. Anyway, the wording coming from Best Buy Canada reads as follows;
“Plug in to BlackBerry App World and read, write and game like never before. With thousands of apps for every use, you’ll never run out of new and exciting options. Pick up Angry Birds or Cut the Rope, read the latest magazines, or connect online with Facebook and Twitter apps. With access to Kobo and Kindle, you can enjoy new late night reading without ever leaving your living room.”
That being said, we caution in that we have yet to hear anything from the folks at Twitter and in regards to the Kindle app, well, that has been coming soon for almost a year now, at least since early in 2011. Then again, maybe they are referring to an Android version of the Kindle app because at this point, it sort of feels like the PlayBook will be running Android apps before a native Kindle and Twitter app.
