Dish Network Announces The "Heartland Package" Of Channels

We have seen a few other Valentine’s Day related sales and announcements, however it looks like we have at least one more. This latest is from Dish Network and it arrives as a new specialty programming package that is noted as being both family-friendly and designed for those in rural America.

Yup, Dish Network has gone after rural America with their latest offering. And honestly, this bit was pushed to us as how “DISH ‘Loves’ Rural America” and well — given that teaser we sort of expected the news was going to be something along the lines of how well the Dish Network service was selling in rural America. Well, that may or many not be true, however in this case it was the method to announce a new specialty programming package.

This new channel selection is dubbed the “Heartland Package” and will be a $5 per month offering which includes the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel, GMC TV, PixL, RFD-TV and RURAL TV. More specifically, the Heartland Package is noted as having arrived “just in time for Valentine’s Day” and being able to offer “family-friendly entertainment” for “parents want to be involved and watch TV with their children.”

That all being said, we suspect that some readers will appreciated the family friendly lineup of channels included in the Heartland Package. Otherwise, for those who need a bit more convincing, here is a further breakdown of the included channels;

• Hallmark Channel, channel 185: Hallmark Channel offers viewers a way to celebrate life’s moments, creating powerful connections with programming meant to make the most out of every season and every day.

• RFD-TV, channel 231: RFD-TV is dedicated to serving rural America with a 24-hour schedule of well-balanced, high quality, original and family-oriented programs that cover the rural way of life, including agriculture, equine, music and entertainment.
• RURAL TV, channel 232: RURAL TV is a new rural business and lifestyle channel, featuring live news with daily market coverage, focusing on business and policy issues of rural America. Following the successful format of RFD-TV, RURAL TV will include programming on equine, music and entertainment but the foundation for RURAL TV’s daily program schedule will focus on the business of rural America and will include international programming.
