MetroPCS $40 4G LTE Calling/Data Plan Now Available For All LTE Smartphones
We had seen some recent chatter about MetroPCS having dropped the $40 per month unlimited calling/data plan for 4G LTE smartphones. And well, despite what had been talked about, we have since received word from the folks at MetroPCS and can say that a $40 per month plan is once again available for those using an LTE smartphone.

According to the details provided;
“MetroPCS is expanding the reach of its 4G LTE service plans by extending its $40 4G LTE service plan to all 4G LTE smartphones within its portfolio.”
This plan is similar to the what we have seen in the past in that it offers unlimited talk, text and 4G web surfing. And perhaps more important, this plan also does not require any long term commitment from the user. This $40 per month plan can be used with any of the LTE devices in the MetroPCS lineup including the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G, the LG Esteem and the Samsung Galaxy Indulge.
For those who are interesting in getting this plan as compared to one of the more expensive alternatives, here are the details for the $40 4G LTE plan;
- Includes unlimited talk, text and 4G Web browsing so consumers can surf the web as much as they’d like
- Includes 100MB of multimedia streaming access for consumers making the shift to mobile broadband and discovering new ways to access their multimedia content
- A good option for users who can occasionally connect via WiFi since multimedia access – streaming content and downloads – over WiFi does not count toward the 100MB allowance
Bottom line, while the $50 and $60 per month offerings may work better for some users — we cannot help but be happy that MetroPCS is offering more options. Not to mention, offering the ability to get a fairly nice plan for less money than you could in the past. After all, this plan should work rather nicely for those who often find themselves with available Wi-Fi access.
