Galaxy S III Spotted on Samsung’s Website, Company Pondering Launch Dates? [Next-gen Galaxy S Version Seen on Samsung Website as GT-I9300, Release Dates Still Unknown]

With about a month to go to MWC 2012, rumors surrounding the announcement and launch of Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy S Android smartphone, the Galaxy S III continue to mount. After we’ve seen the device reportedly leaked in a video, and after learning the Galaxy S III will not be announced at MWC as initially planned, we now hear that Samsung is still considering launch dates for the device.

During Samsung’s recent earnings call, the company said that the release date of the Galaxy S III is under review, as the company has not decided when to launch the new device. The Galaxy S and Galaxy S II were both unveiled at the beginning of 2010 and 2011, respectively, and sold thereafter in various markets. But Samsung could decide to postpone the announcement of the third Galaxy S model, in order not to lose any momentum in the U.S., where carriers have started selling the previous versions (much) later than their counterparts in other markets.

Meanwhile, it seems that the company is definitely working on the Galaxy S III, and a device that’s believed to be the third-generation Galaxy S model has been spotted on a Samsung support website, as seen in the screenshot below.

The Galaxy S III is believed to be codenamed the GT-I9300, a logical product name considering that the original Galaxy S models were codenamed GT-I90XX, the Galaxy S II was known as the GT-I91XX, while the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note are labeled I9250 and I9220, respectively. But while the Galaxy S III could have already been listed on Samsung’s United Arab Emirates website, other details regarding the device including specs, features and images are not available at this time.

While the Galaxy S III announcement may not come at MWC, Samsung is rumored to unveil a bigger Galaxy Tab version at the Spanish show, and we’re definitely interested to see what other mobile devices the company will bring at MWC.
