Resident Evil 6 Unveiled By Capcom
Even though there are some survival horror fans that would like to forget recent Resident Evil installments like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and see the series return to its incredibly spooky roots, Capcom is pushing ahead with the series anyway. The company officially announced Resident Evil 6 today after rumors of its existence started circulating, and even gave us a new trailer to boot, which you can see if you jump past the break.

Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield – the stars of RE4 and RE5, respectively – will be returning for Resident Evil 6, both as playable characters. As we can see in the trailer below, it’s been a decade since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States (who also happens to be a close friend of Leon) is preparing to finally come clean about what went down all those years ago. He doesn’t get the chance to actually do so, instead becoming the victim of a bioterrorist attack himself, turning into – you guessed it! – a zombie.
Meanwhile, Chris Redfield lands in China, which is about to experience a bioterrorism attack as well. Essentially, if there’s one thing we learn from this new Resident Evil media, it’s that everyone is going to die and there probably isn’t much that can be done about it.
The trailer posted below give us a glimpse at both storylines, and even though there’s a lot of action that takes place, Resident Evil 6 seems to be returning to the creepy settings that we’re used to. This is a move that makes the game appear to be geared more toward survival horror than previous entries, but we can also clearly see that cover spots are present in the game, so take that news as you will.
To Capcom’s credit though, it looks like the developer is really trying to please as many Resident Evil fans as possible with this installment, and that’s something that should earn your attention. We’ll definitely be finding out more about Resident Evil 6 in the coming days and weeks, but in the meantime, just know that Resident Evil 6 will be releasing on Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 20th, with a PC release to follow shortly thereafter. Now all that’s left for you to do is watch the trailer below and then post a comment with your thoughts!
