Motorola Defy Mini Now Available For Pre-Order In The UK

Those who may have been interested in the recently announced Motorola Defy Mini smartphone can now move forward with a pre-order. Well, those interested and living in the UK anyway. It looks like UK retailer Clove has begun accepting those orders and even offered up a tentative release date.

In terms of the handset, this one looks like it is going to be perfect for those with a budget in mind. In fact, Clove is selling the handset on a SIM-free and unlocked basis and the price is still under £200 with VAT included. More specifically, those interested will be able to purchase the Defy Mini for £145.83 (or £174.99 with VAT included).

And while the orders will move forward, there is still nothing concrete in terms of when this device will actually ship. The details coming from Clove do offer a timeframe, however it is not much more than that at this point in time. Basically, Clove has noted that the inventory is “expected” to arrive in late February or early March.

Otherwise, similar to the other Defy branded smartphones, the Defy Mini is also a rugged designed device. It does come smaller overall and also with less oomph in terms of the specs as compared to the Defy+. Basically what we have is a handset with a 3.2 inch (480 x320) HVGA touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass, a 600MHz processor, 3 megapixel rear facing camera with flash and Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread.

In addition, the specs will include a VGA quality front facing camera, GPS, 3G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, DLNA, 1650 mAh battery and a microSD card slot. As as for the rugged design, coming along with that Corning Gorilla Glass will be a handset that is both water and dust resistant. And lastly, the Defy Mini measures in at 109 x 58.5 x 12.55 mm and weighs in at 107 grams.
