More Diablo 3 Console Jobs Surface At Blizzard
We’re fast approaching Diablo 3‘s release date (at least we think we are), and one question that remains unanswered is whether or not the highly anticipated action RPG will be coming to consoles. It may seem silly to wonder whether Blizzard – a developer known for its commitment to PC gaming – will bring one of their games to consoles, but the studio has given us plenty of reason to speculate.

That’s because numerous jobs postings have come out of Blizzard in the last year or so. While the job postings call for a variety of talents, they all have a couple of things in common: they’re all searching for people that have experience working with consoles, and they were all filed under Diablo 3.
Not only that, but Blizzard team members have suggested that a console version is in the works, with Josh Mosqueira saying that the studio is “very, very serious,” about bringing the game to consoles at Gamescom earlier this year. Between that statement and the various job postings, it seems pretty obvious that Diablo 3 will one day make it to consoles.
Just in case you’re not convinced, however, we’ve got a bit more evidence for you, and it comes in the form of – surprise! – another job posting. This particular posting is looking for a Console Network Senior Software Engineer, who will be tasked with “ensuring the best implementation of sophisticated networking systems on consoles.”

Blizzard, we need to talk. If Diablo 3 is going to come to consoles, just tell us already. It’s been months and months since the first job posting appeared, and you know that all of these whispers of a console version are driving console gamers absolutely nuts. Think of the console owners, Blizzard!
In any case, if Diablo 3 does make it to consoles, it seems like it will arrive some time after the PC version, which is supposed to launch early next year. I suppose Blizzard could make a surprise announcement between now and then that says a console version will launch alongside the PC, but an announcement like that doesn’t seem very likely. Whatever ends up happening, you can be sure that we’ll have all the information here at TFTS, so keep checking back with us!
