CES 2012: Wicked Audio Looks To Make Another Splash With Solus Headphones [Solus Headphones Offer Good Utility For Audiophiles With Plenty Of Options, Will Make Landfall At The CES 2012 Event]
It’s strange, folks, but last year, almost to the day, I was bringing you word about Wicked Audio’s lineup for CES. And now, thanks to our friends out at the Max Borges Agency who dropped us word on it, here I am, almost a year later, doing it again. Wicked Audio’s got some new plans for release at the 2012 CES event, and they’re going by the name of Solus.

Solus, which translates from the Latin to mean “be yourself”, represent (according to the tip we got, anyway), not only Wicked Audio’s first use of a new kind of packaging in 2012, but also their best audio experience yet. They’ll include a thick braided cord, built-in volume control, and a one-switch change from DJ sound to stereo sound, giving you the option to switch between different useful functions from one central port.
They’ll be available for purchase in January, and if you want to go ears-on with them before dropping the $100 necessary to lay hands on a pair of them, you’ll just have to head out for the big show in Nevada, as Wicked Audio will have these at “comparative listening stations” , so you can get a measure of their quality for yourself.

Having used Wicked Audio headphones before, they’ve been pretty solid models, though I have to confess to a certain amount of doubt that they’re going to be three-figures good in terms of audio quality. Still though, they should find some solid market support from users who like their headphones to have a certain look, especially if they go mobile with them, and these definitely have a distinct look to them. And of course, things like audio quality are highly subjective, so it’s a fair bet that someone will enjoy these.
But are you that someone? Anyone out there thinking that the Wicked Audio Solus headphones are the kind of headphones they’ll want attached to their various portable audio and even video solutions? Or are you thinking you can do quite a bit better for the kind of money they’re asking? No matter what your take, we welcome it down in the comments section below!
