Halo: Reach Map Packs Half Off On Xbox Live Today

We might have been giving other sales some more attention in the past week or so, but anyone with an Xbox 360 likely knows that there’s currently an Xbox Live holiday sale going on now as well. Today’s offer slashes the price on the things no serious Halo: Reach player should be without: map packs.

Nearly every map pack for Halo: Reach is 50% off today, save for the Anniversary Map Pack – you’ll need to pony up the full price if you want that one. That means that the Noble Map Pack and the Defiant Map pack are 400 MSP each. But it really wouldn’t be much of a sale if Microsoft just discounted two things, would it?

Apparently Microsoft didn’t think so either. The Games on Demand version of Halo: Reach has been discounted by $10 today, bringing the price from $39.99 to $29.99, which is a little bit closer to what you’d actually pay if you had just picked the game up at retail store instead of buying through Games on Demand. As well, various Halo: Reach avatar items and themes have been put on sale. Take a look a Major Nelson’s list of Halo themes and avatar items along with their promotional prices:

• Halo Energy Sword Prop – 120 MSP

Microsoft is taking advantage of all those Xbox 360 and Halo: Reach bundles that were undoubtedly sold to shoppers loaded with gift cards yesterday. If you’re interested, you only have a limited window of time you buy your content, because tomorrow these Halo: Reach items and DLC will go back to the normal prices and be replaced by a new round of deals.
