Apple Rumors Suggest A “Completely Redesigned” iPhone Will Be Coming In 2012 [Apple iPhone Rumor Mill Kicks Up Again, Is Suggesting A New iPhone With A 4" Display & An Aluminum Back Cover]

Well look what we have here, another flare up of next-generation rumors. And while we can call it the iPhone 5 for lack of a better name at this point, that is one tidbit that did not surface in this report. That being said, this latest is still firmly in the rumor category and is not even expected to come available for quite some time now.

In fact, based on the rumors, the next iPhone is expected to arrive in the fall of 2012. And coming as we had sort of expected with this previous iPhone release — the next model is said to be coming as a “completely redesigned iPhone.” Of course, there is a bit of a catch with that statement. You see, while it may be a completely redesigned iPhone, the details in this rumor are suggesting that it will come sporting an iPad 2-like design.

But before we get in any further, this report is coming by way of the BGR tech blog who are reporting based on word from a “closed source.” And to add just a little bit to that, BGR goes on to state they they “can now confidently say that Apple’s next iPhone will launch in the fall next year.” That said, nothing all that shocking up until this point so lets get into the remaining details of the phone itself.

BGR is reporting that the next-generation iPhone will have a “rubber or plastic material — similar to the material used in the company’s bumper cases — that will be built into the new iPhone case.” Further details in this aspect state that this rubber or plastic material will be used to join the glass with the back plate and perhaps a bit more important — that it will be covering a new antenna system. In terms of that antenna system, aside from being a new set-up, it should allow Apple to be able to use an aluminum back covering and do so without having to use those plastic portions like how they do on the iPad 3G models.

Bottom line here, an iPhone is rumored as coming in the fall of 2012 and it is said to be coming with a newly designed antenna system and an aluminum back cover. Time of course will tell just how accurate these rumors are.
