JXD S7100; An Android Tablet With A Focus On Gaming
In the ever growing world of Android tablets, this latest comes as a nice change. Well, a nice change for those who may be looking for something with a relatively low price tag and a focus on gaming. Yup, this latest is a game-focused Android tablet which comes complete with hardware game controls.

The device is the JXD S7100 and it is priced at $139.99. Those interested will be able to find the tablet by way of ishareGifts. Further details show that they are offering free shipping and an estimated “leaves warehouse” time of 3 business days.
The JXD S7100 is available in black and/or white and officially the tablet is dubbed the “Android Retro Game Console Tablet.” The device includes the basics in the box — the tablet itself along with a USB cable, charger, user manual and a set of earphones. In terms of specs, those kick off with Android 2.2 Froyo and then break down as follows;
- 7 inch (800 x 480) capacitive touchscreen display
- ARM Cortex A9, mail 400 GPU 3D
- 512MB DDR2 RAM
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- 0.3 megapixel front facing camera
- 2.0 megapixel rear facing camera
- USB 2.0
- G-sensor
- HDMI output
- Measurements: 238.5 x 121.7 x 12.35mm

Otherwise, the JXD S7100 is noted as being “a perfect combination of Tablet PC and retro game control” with specific mention being made for Sony, Nintendo, Sega and Arcade games. That being said, we suspect that anyone looking to play any of those games will need to find a good source of ROM’s and then download and sideload them onto the game tablet. It also appears that the JXD S7100 also comes with a special storefront for applications, of which the feature list notes that there is support for 10,000 applications.
All said and done, while we would be curious to spend some hands-on time with this device, we do have to say that the video (below) makes it seem somewhat worthy of consideration. With that, if any TFTS readers pick this up, feel free to shout out in the comments letting us know your thoughts.
