iPad 3 Home Buttons Get Leaked Months Ahead of Tablet’s Launch [With No Clear Release Date in Sight for the iPad 3, More Parts Get Featured in Leaked Images]

Apple is rumored to launch the iPad 3 in time for Steve Jobs’ birthday, or February 24, but there’s no clear evidence to back up such reports. As always the company will not reveal any details about its upcoming iOS devices, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to see plenty of leaks in the following months to suggest various design elements and features of the next-gen tablet.

In fact, today we have pictures showing the Home Button of the iPad 3, and from the looks of it the button will neither change shape nor be replaced by a capacitive alternative. The image below, obtained by 9to5mac, reveals the similarities and differences between the Home Button of the iPad 2 and the iPad 3.

We’re basically looking at the same overall shape and size, which means that we can expect the iPad 3 to be similar to the iPad 2 when it comes to overall design, including color options. However, there are certain differences that are visible in the image above: the square on the Home Button is slightly thicker and the hardware under the button is occupying less space than the current version.

Like always we’ll consider the fact that we could be looking at a fake image too, but why would anyone go through such trouble to provide fake photos of a certain tablet part? At the same time we’ll remind you that, as always with new iOS device releases, we’re probably going to see plenty of other iPad 3 parts hit the web in the coming months, so we’re probably going to see the Home Button appear again in the very near future alongside other details regarding the iPad 3’s design and features.

Let’s hear it from potential iPad buyers out there, will you upgrade to iPad 3 or are you happy with your current tablet?
