925 iPhone 4S & 81 iPads Sold Per Minute, Infographic Says, But For How Many Minutes? [New Infographic Lists Plenty of Tech & Gadgets Facts, Doesn’t Explain How They Were Obtained]

After learning that over 1 trillion YouTube videos have been viewed so far this year, and that Facebook and Apple have experienced great traffic, through the year and in November, respectively, it’s now time to look at another interesting tech-related analysis that looks at what happens in 60 seconds nowadays.

Go-Gulf has looked at various gadgets- and tech-related facts and displayed them in a single image, available above, and while it’s certainly interesting to look at all this data, especially now, at the end of the year when everyone summarizes what happened in the previous months, we can’t but wonder how accurate everything really is.

Since we did talk about the estimated number of iPhone sales for the current quarter a few days ago, we’ll look at the Apple numbers presented in the infographic above. Apparently every minute Apple is selling 925 iPhone 4S units and 81 iPads. That’s certainly impressive, but how did they come up with the number. There 1,440 minutes in a day and the iPhone 4S has been selling for 71 days. Assuming Apple has sold 925 iPhone 4S units per minute since, the company should have sold by now 94.5 million units which translates into 1.33 million iPhone activations per day not counting all the other iOS device sales. Clearly that we haven’t reached such an iPhone 4S sales level yet.

The infographic is still fun to look at over coffee especially since there are various other similar details revealed:

710 computers are sold worldwide and 555 of these computers are sold with Intel processors
1,820 TB of data is created; that’s enough data to fill up 2.6 million CDs
232 computers around the world get infected by malware
450 Windows 7 Cds are sold worldwide
925 iPhone 4s and 85 iPads are sold worldwide
11 Xbox 360 consoles are sold worldwide
18 Amazon’s Kindle Fire are sold worldwide
38 tons E-waste is generated worldwide
4,000 USB devices are sold worldwide
2,500 ink cartridges are sold worldwide
2,100 checkins happen on location-based social networking website foursquare
$75,000 is added to Google’s revenue

103 Blackberries are sold worldwide
1,100 acres of land farmed in Farmville application
PayPal processes transactions worth $219,000; out of these, $10,000 is transacted via PayPal mobile

12 websites get hacked and 416 attempts are made to compromise various Facebook accounts
1,400 movie discs are rented from the online movie rental service Redbox

And we can’t help but notice that Android sales are completely missing. Here, we’re going to help: Google says that over 700,000 Android units are activated every day. Since we established there are 1,440 minutes in a day, then we’re looking at 486.1 Android activations each minute. So then, according to the infographic, is the iPhone winning?
