Google Voice For iOS Gets An Update [Latest iOS Google Voice App Update Brings Multi-Recipient Texting, Improved Integration For Sprint Users & More]
Those using Google Voice on an iOS device may want to fire up the App Store and download the latest update. Yup, Google has updated the iOS Google Voice app and with the new (and now higher) version number comes some new features including some for text messaging and some for Sprint users.

That being said, lets get the nitty-gritty details out of the way in the beginning. The iOS Google Voice app remains available as a free download and also free to use. The app has been bumped up to version 1.4.0.2372 and requires iOS 3.0 or later for use. In addition, the iOS Google Voice app is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch as well as the iPad.
With that, while it would have been much nicer to be writing this post knowing that Google finally added support for MMS messaging, it looks like that will remain a feature that we can keep on the wish list. But that is not to say that messaging did not get a perk. In fact, this latest version of Google Voice for iOS brings support for multi-recipient messaging.
In other words, you can finally send a text message to more than one person without having to send that same message multiple times. Needless to say, creating these multi-recipient text messages is simple enough, follow the same pattern that you previously used to send a text message and then just hit the little “+” circle to the right of the names to add more than one person.
Moving past the messaging and onto the other features. This update also added a multi-line text entry field with character count and 1-touch copy/paste in the dialpad.
Otherwise, the one remaining new feature in this latest version is for Sprint users. According to the “what’s new” section in the iOS App Store listing, Google Voice for iOS now has improved integration for Sprint users. More specifically;
