Wii U To Make An Appearance At CES 2012
Do you remember the Wii U? You would be forgiven if you had forgotten it, because aside from a few rumors and some announcements here and there, we haven’t heard that much about the Wii U since it made its debut at E3 2011. Nintendo hasn’t been talking about the Wii U all that much, but today it announced that the console will be at CES next month.

Unfortunately, there isn’t going to be much of anything new at the show, as a Nintendo rep has said that there won’t be any new Wii U games to show at the event. In fact, Nintendo won’t even have a booth at CES, and the rep warned not expect anything other than what was on shown at E3 2011.
CES is typically a show that Nintendo skips, so it seems strange that Nintendo executives would decide to attend the show without anything new to reveal. Even though we’ve had some Wii U game announcements and Nintendo has given us some idea of the hardware that’s included, there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the Wii U. If the next Xbox and PlayStation are as close as some claim, Nintendo will have to really push the Wii U if they want anyone to pay attention to it. Right now, however, it seems that Nintendo just doesn’t have that much to show.

We’re still pretty early in the build up though, since the Wii U probably isn’t going to launch until late 2012. In any case, it looks like we’re going to have to wait until Gamescom or E3 to get more information on the Wii U, because no one will be getting it at CES.
What do you think? Are you excited for the Wii U, or do need Nintendo to dish more information before you decide whether you want it? Do you think the Wii U will be a success like the original Wii, or will it struggle when the next Xbox and PlayStation hit store shelves? Leave us a comment with your opinion!
