Verizon Galaxy Nexus Does Have Signal Strength Issues, Says Verizon [Verizon Confirms Signal Strength Problems Can Be Found On The Galaxy Nexus, A Fix Is Already In The Works]

It’s been a long wait for more than a few people out there, but the Galaxy Nexus is now available. But only recently, some have started reporting issues of signal strength and reliability, and now, reports out of Verizon suggest that there is indeed a problem with the signal, but a fix is in the works to take care of the problem.

Launch issues seem to be part and parcel of the tech experience these days, and now, Verizon is no exception. While they’re not saying just what it is that’s causing the problems that some are having keeping their signals strong enough to make the devices useful (they’re currently “investigating” the problem), one thing that we can tell from the announcement is that the problem seems to be in the software, as Verizon’s planning to release a software-based fix to the problem. In fact, the problem doesn’t seem to be very widespread, as there haven’t been many reports coming in of people even seeing the problem on their phones to begin with.

Some have noted that the iPhone 4 faced similar problems back in its early days with signal strength, though those problems were much, much more widespread (sufficiently so for Apple to release its now infamous response to the so-called Antennagate), but in this case, the problems seem to be with both calling and LTE functionality, which has prompted investigation in both the LTE and CDMA radios. But again, since the problems are so few in number being reported, it’s hoped that a solution for those few with issues will find themselves taken care of in rapid fashion.

So it’s times like these that make it well worth opening up the floor for you guys out there: is anyone seeing problems with their calling or network connectivity on their Verizon Galaxy Nexus phones? Or are you not seeing an issue that would require a fix in the first place? No matter what you think, we definitely want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section below and tell us what your experience has been like so far!
