Steam Holiday Sale Kicks Off With Deals On Metro 2033, Portal 2
Steam‘s holiday sale has arrived at last, so hopefully you still have some money for yourself after doing all of your holiday shopping and paying all of your bills for the month. If you do have some extra money on hand, don’t expect it to be around for long, because any PC gamer will tell you that the deals offered during Steam’s holiday sale are usually very difficult to pass up.

Valve is starting the sale with a bang, and even though we’ve recently seen some of these deals, there’s still plenty of tempting discounts to be had. Take a look at today’s full list of featured deals:
- Max Payne – $2.49
- Max Payne 2 – $2.49
- Fable 3 – $12.49
- Bunch of Heroes – $2.49
- Amnesia – $4.99
- Sam & Max Complete Pack – $12.49
- Singularity – $7.49
- Pendulo Studios Adventure Pack – $12.49
- Portal Bundle – $8.74
- Rift – $7.49
- Just Cause – $3.74
- Just Cause 2 – $4.99
- Orcs Must Die – $3.74
- Metro 2033 – $4.99
Of course, that group of deals doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface – they just get top billing because they’re all 75% off. Discounted publisher catalogs and special game bundles have also made a return for this holiday sale, so if you like buying your games in bulk, those are the offers for you.

In addition to the deals, the start of the Steam holiday sale also marks the beginning of the Great Gift Pile promotion. Each day, Steam users will be given a new set of in-game objectives to complete in exchange for Steam gifts and coal. The Steam gifts can range from games, in-game items, and Steam coupons, whereas coal can be crafted into Steam gifts or saved – come January 2nd, each lump of coal you have in your Steam inventory will be counted as an entry to win the Epic Holiday Giveaway. Did we mention that the top prize in the Epic Holiday Giveaway is every game on Steam? I’d hold onto that coal if I were you.
All of this is going on until January 1st, so that’s just about two weeks worth of daily deals and daily in-game objectives. What are you buying? Take to the comments section to let us know, and keep it here at TFTS – we’ll all the information you need in the coming days of the Steam holiday sale!
