LG Officially Unveils The Prada 3.0 Smartphone, Should Have It Available Beginning In January

LG Prada v3.0 Smartphone Now Official, Features Include A 4.3" NOVA Plus Display, Dual-Core 1GHz Processor & Android Gingerbread

LG and Prada have officially unveiled their latest smartphone offering. Dubbed the LG Prada 3.0, the handset is expected to be available beginning in January 2012 and in addition to sporting the “unmistakable style of Prada” the handset is actually sporting some solid hardware specs.

That being said, lets dive right in with the specs. According to the details coming from LG, the Prada 3.0 smartphone will be running Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and have the following goodies;

  • 4.3 inch (800 x 480) NOVA Plus touchscreen display
  • Dual-core 1GHz processor
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • 1540 mAh battery
  • 8 megapixel camera

Other features include a microSD card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0 and HSPA+ network support.

And for those who are thinking that this handset could be your next phone if it were to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich. Well, while the Prada 3.0 will not ship with Android 4.0, LG has already made it clear that an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be coming “in the future.” Sadly though, nothing more specific as to when was given.

Moving past the hardware specs and into the design of the handset itself. The Prada 3.0 is “completely decorated in classic black.” Yup, as you can see from the images included in this post, the Prada 3.0 has a textured black back which is noted as being the “Prada Saffiano” style along with a black front. Otherwise, the front of the handset has the four Android style buttons, with one being for Menu, Home, Back and Search. In terms of the user interface, while this is based on Gingerbread it does have a unique look. According to what LG and Prada have offered up in terms of the UI, this comes as a “specially developed control concept with a unique menu and symbols in black, gray and white.”

And lastly, in addition to the (yet to be priced) handset, LG and Prada are also going to offer some accessories including a docking station, Bluetooth headset and “fashionable” Prada bag — all of which will be sporting the Prada logo.
