Grand Theft Auto 3 for iPhone, iPad Now Available to Download

Rockstar Games Celebrates 10th Anniversary of GTA 3 with iOS (& Android) Versions of the Game

In some parts of the world it’s already December 15, which means that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 3 is now available in iOS format. The company announced a while ago that it will launch mobile versions of its popular computer and console game to celebrate the 10th anniversary of GTA 3 and it looks like the iPhone and iPad versions of the game have started to roll out in international markets.

GTA 3 doesn’t need any more introductions and hardcore fans of the franchise will surely appreciate being able to play the game on the mobile device of their choice. The game will bring them back to Liberty City, and this time around they’ll have a touchscreen-based device to help them wander the city in search of new missions to help them move up in the world of crime. Here’s what the game will have to offer:

  • Visually stunning updated graphics, character and vehicle models
  • HD quality resolution
  • Gameplay optimized for touch screen devices
  • Custom controls for the mobile platform
  • Countless hours of gameplay

There doesn’t seem to be any special content created for the iOS (or Android) version of GTA 3, but that shouldn’t stop you from reliving the GTA 3 experience. The game will retail for $4.99, although U.S. customers will still have to wait a few hours before being able to download it.

In case you own an Android smartphone or tablet and you want to play the mobile version of the GTA 3 game then you should check this list of supported devices before looking for it in the Android Market:
