Rogers Expands Upon Their LTE Network Coverage
It looks like Rogers has once again expanded upon their LTE network coverage. According to the details provided, the new LTE zones will be found in more cities in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding Vancouver. And on the flip side, this means that Rogers now has LTE available for more than eight million people.

Also worth noting, Rogers is promising that their LTE network will be available for “more than 30 per cent of the population by the end of 2011.” Of course, it seems as if Rogers is pushing their LTE network expansion as part of their “proud history of innovative firsts and commitment to investing in Canada’s digital future.” In other words, Rogers has used this opportunity as the perfect time to remind everyone that they were the “first carrier in North America to launch a HSPA+ network; the first carrier in Canada to launch GSM; the first in the world to launch BlackBerry devices; and the first in Canada to launch both Android products and the iPhone.”
More to the point though, Rogers LTE is now live in Mississauga along with Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham as well as West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Surrey and Maple Ridge.
And tying in those first, Rogers has now become the first to launch LTE coverage in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Not to mention, they were the first to Canadian carrier to begin technical trials, which they began last fall.
Lastly, in terms of LTE compatible devices, Rogers is growing a nice mix of smartphones, tablets and modems. So far the Rogers LTE device list includes the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and HTC Raider smartphones, the HTC Jetstream LTE tablet, the Rogers LTE Rocket Stick (Sierra Wireless AirCard 313U) and the LTE Rocket Mobile Hotspot (Sierra Wireless 754S).
