Todd Howard Talks Skyrim DLC
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launched precisely one month ago today. Crazy isn’t it? Even though many gamers have been playing nothing but Skyrim for a month straight, most probably haven’t experienced everything the game has to offer quite yet.

However, the idea that there are still gamers out there struggling with the scope of Skyrim hasn’t stopped Bethesda from looking into potential DLC ideas for 2011′s Game of the Year. In a new interview with Joystiq, Skyrim creative director Todd Howard said that Bethesda will be looking to make the game better with DLC, not just larger. Obviously, Skyrim is already pretty massive, so it’s probably a good thing that Bethesda is choosing to focus on something other than adding more places to explore.
Howard also reiterated things he’s stated in the past, saying that while there will be multiple pieces of DLC, there’s no planned time frame for release. According to Howard, this means bigger DLC installments that are spaced further apart than has been the case for previous Bethesda releases.
And no, in case you were wondering, Howard says that there still aren’t any plans for an Elder Scrolls MMO. However, he also said that “you can never say never,” about these things, so there’s still a glimmer of hope for those of you who would like to see an MMO that takes place in the lands of Tamriel.

All in all, it sounds like Bethesda wants to make triple-A DLC for a triple-A game, which is definitely a good thing. With as good as Skyrim is, you know players will eat up any DLC that Bethesda decides to release, so let’s hope Bethesda can get it right, à la Shivering Isles for Oblivion.
What do you think? Are you excited to see what Bethesda comes up with as far as Skyrim DLC, or are you worried that it won’t be as good as the base game? Head down to the comments section to let us know, and keep it tuned right here to TFTS for more information about this upcoming Skyrim DLC!
