Rumor: Nokia Lumia 900 Specs Emerge
Nokia has just released its new flagship Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7 handset in some regions the past weeks. Amid mixed reviews but with strong sales, the Finnish company is reportedly planning to launch another flagship product soon.

Nokia has begun shipping the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in some markets, and has even faced strong demand, particularly in the UK, where the Lumia 800 has reportedly sold out . But even as smartphone consumers are snapping up this latest WP7 flagship phone from Nokia, the company is reportedly working on an upgrade already, which might be launched sometime by mid 2012.
The Geek Tech Blog‘s Alexander Jethwa reports that he was able to play with a prototype Lumia 900 lent to him by a source from within Nokia. No specific details were given, although the unlaunched phone is said to have a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen with the same ClearBlack technology as the Lumia 800, which produces very deep blacks and dark colors. Processor is rumored to be a dual-core 1.4 GHz. The phone will reportedly feature an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a front-facing camera for video-calls.
Design-wise, Jethwa says the new Lumia is a bigger version of the Lumia 800 (pictured above), with the same button layout. A few differences include pin-access to the microSIM like on the iPhone, and no cover to the micro USB slot.
There’s no word as to when the phone will launch, although it’s likely to be either Q1 or Q2 of 2012. At this point, Nokia is likely to introduce NFC to its devices, given that Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango platform already supports the technology, and Nokia is historically known to be active in developing using this protocol.
