US Cellular Announces Gingerbread For The (Original) 7" Galaxy Tab
US Cellular has become the latest carrier to announce a software update for the original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet. And yes, there is a bit of good news as the tablets will be going from Android 2.2 Froyo up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

More specifically, it will be going up to Android 2.3.5. And sure, some will probably complain that the update is not bringing Ice Cream Sandwich, however if nothing else — at least this means that the US Cellular version of the tablet will be on the same level as the Verizon version. If you remember back, Verizon rolled-out Gingerbread for the Galaxy Tab back in early-November.
That being said, the US Cellular update for the tablet is available as of today and can be found by way of the support pages. Those in need of a link can click here. In terms of the update, that comes as Software Number EJ06 and measures in a 220MB in size. As for getting the update, this one is not coming over-the-air and must be done using the Samsung Simple Upgrade Tool. Again, directions as to how you can get your tablet updated can be found using that previous link. Anyway, without any further adieu, here is what you can expect in terms changes;
