Nokia Begins Shipping The Lumia 710 Smartphone
The Nokia Lumia 710 smartphone was first unveiled back in October during Nokia World. At the time the Lumia 710 was dubbed a “True Windows Phone” and since then we have heard quite a few good things along with some rumors. But perhaps the nicer news is that Nokia has announced the handset has officially begun shipping.

That being said, this means that the Lumia 710 will join the Lumia 800 on the shelves and out in the wild. In terms of where the Lumia 710 will be available — the sales will begin first for those in Taiwan. Moving past that and the handset is then expected to come available in Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia within the next week. And looking a bit further out, the Lumia 710 will “continue its global roll-out over the coming weeks.”
Bottom line, while the device has begun shipping, unless you are in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, India or Russia — you likely have some time before you will actually be able to make a purchase. Of course, that brings us to one of the recent rumors surrounding the handset. Based on what we have heard thus far, T-Mobile could be launching the Lumia 710 on December 14th. As to backing this rumor up with details, an FCC filing was discovered a short while back. And touching a little further on that, Nokia and T-Mobile have announced a special event for the 14th. Hence, many are expecting the Lumia 710 to be announced for T-Mobile here in the US.
Otherwise, the Nokia Lumia 710 will debut priced at 270 EUR and bring features to include Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and will be available in a variety of colors including one with a white and black front finish. As for those colors, they will come by way of the five interchangeable back-covers which will be available separately.
Moving past the exterior colors and into the actual specs, those break down as follows;
- 3.7 inch touchscreen (800 x 480) Curved Clear Black display
- 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- 512MB RAM
- 8GB of internal storage
- 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording
