Asus Transformer Prime Delayed Until Next Year Because of Wi-Fi Issues
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the first Android tablet in the world to pack NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor, has been available for pre-order for quite a while now, but it has not been shipped to consumers yet.

The Transformer Prime kept being delayed as it approached launch date, and now it looks like the company decided to only release the tablet at some point in 2012. Apparently there’s some sort of Wi-Fi issue with the tablet, one that Asus is very interested in fixing before launch.
The news comes from Transformer Prime buyers that purchased the device from NCIX and who received the following message:
“Unfortunately, we just received word that the ASUS Transformer Prime has been delayed worldwide and will most likely not be available before Christmas. ASUS feels the WiFi range does not currently meet their standards and has delayed all shipments worldwide. At the moment there is no ETA and no information on available quantities on the first batch.”
That’s certainly not the kind of message early tablet buyers like to hear especially considering that Christmas is almost upon us. We’ll certainly be interested to hear more details about the situation and we’ll bring you more updates on the matter as soon as new information is available. In the mean time let’s take another look at the Prime’s official specs and features as we wait for Asus to figure out a new launch window for its latest tablet:
