Over 1 Million Mobile Apps Available for Download, Google Offers Android Market Infographic

Apple Leads The Mobile App Environment; With Google Accounts for Over 900K Applications, All Available Now

Smartphone apps continue to grow in numbers as more and more applications find their way to the most popular app stores out there. And it looks like that we have just passed the one million apps mark when adding all the available apps across different platforms.

According to MobileWalla there are 1,001,219 mobile apps in the world right now. Of those, 597,253 are iOS apps while 324,003 are Android apps. On third and fourth place, and trailing way behind Apple and Google (although we’ll note there are other independent Android-based stores out there), we find BlackBerry and Windows with 43,548 and 36,415 apps, respectively.

While Google is yet to match Apple’s app offerings, the company did pass an important milestone recently.
