Skyrim Update 1.3 Now Available On PC, Patch For Consoles Coming Soon
Bethesda has released update 1.3 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, hot on the heels of update 1.2, which arrived last week. As many of you already know, update 1.3 was direly needed after the release of 1.2 because update 1.2 broke the game just a little more, making dragons fly backwards and erasing resistances.

Obviously, going into to battle without active resistances was suicide for some players, so their characters were essentially shelved until the patch arrived. The good new is that update 1.3 should fix this problem, but the bad news is that it doesn’t fix much else. Take a look at Bethesda’s patch notes for 1.3:
- General stability improvements
- Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
- Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
- Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
- Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
- Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
- Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate
So, that’s it – unless your issues are book or dragon related, there probably isn’t anything here for you. Update 1.3 is only available on PC at the moment, but Bethesda says that the console version of the patch has been submitted to both Sony and Microsoft for approval, so the update should be making its way to PS3 and Xbox 360 soon.
Unfortunately, Bethesda announced yesterday that those still experiencing issues with lag on PS3 are going to have to wait a little while longer, as the fix is giving 1.3 a pass and will be included in a future patch.
How about it? Does this patch fix any issues you were having, or are you still experiencing bugs that go unfixed?
