Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE Now Available With Bell

Bell Mobility Launches The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE Tablet, Has It Priced At $429.95 On A Three-Year Agreement]

Bell Mobility has officially launched their first LTE capable tablet. The model is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE. Of course, what happens to be the first LTE capable tablet is also the second Galaxy Tab tablet to arrive.

That being said, at present Bell is offering the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is a 4G (HSPA+) device that is selling for $574.95 on a three-year agreement. But before we shift the focus any further away from the LTE goodness, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet has arrived with Bell and is available as of today. In terms of pricing, this tablet is $429.95 on a three-year agreement. And in addition, those looking to knock down that commitment time can opt to shell out $649.95 and go contract-free. And nothing is listed in terms of a one-year or two-year agreement, which is the same way Bell has been selling the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

In terms of the specs, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE brings (as implied by the name) support for the Bell Mobility 4G LTE network with speeds being touted at “up to 75 Mbps.” Nonetheless, we suspect real world speeds will be a bit less. Otherwise, the tablet is sporting an 8.9 inch (1280 x 800) touchscreen display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 2 megapixel front facing camera and a 3 megapixel rear facing camera that has 720p HD video recording.

Those who make the purchase can also expect to find 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and Android 3.2 Honeycomb. In terms of size, while the display measures in at just shy of 9 inches, the overall measurements breakdown as follows — 230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6mm. And lastly, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE weighs in at 453 grams and ships with a USB cable and travel adapter as well as the usual goodies to include the quick start guide and warranty information. In other words, not much in the box except for the essentials.
