Motorola Droid RAZRMAX Codename Comes Up, New Android Smartphone?
The Motorola Droid RAZR, Moto’s new flagship Android handset and one of the premium 4G LTE smartphones currently in Verizon’s inventory, has been launched less than a month ago, and there’s already talk of various other RAZR successors.

One of them is the already leaked Droid 4, the fourth slider in the famous Droid line, but also a device that has been described in various reports as a RAZR with a full QWERTY keyboard. But while the device will not have the “RAZR” particle in its name, it appears there’s already talk of another RAZR-branded Android handset, the Droid RAZRMAX.
Motorola seems really keen on turning its once very popular handset line into a full-fledged Android smartphone family and the RAZRMAX may be just one of the many RAZR successors.
But little information is available at this time about this RAZRMAX handset, as we don’t have specs and features for the rumored device nor did any images leak out at this time. The name has been found in EXIF data for certain pictures found by PocketNow, and the word on the street, apparently backed up by one Verizon employee, is that the RAZRMAX will be coming out in the future and it will include a larger battery than the current RAZR model.

The Droid RAZR, unlike other Android handsets, comes with a built-in battery that can’t be replaced by the user, much like the iPhone (see the image on top from the official RAZR teardown). That could turn out to be a problem for hardcore smartphone users, especially the ones that are going to use the phone’s 4G LTE capabilities for heavy web browsing.
Battery life for LTE handsets has always been a problem, one that will probably be fixed as the technology evolves. But until then smartphone makers will have to find ways to offer users as much battery juice as possible for LTE devices. And yes, we expect the RAZRMAX to come with LTE support as well.
But is the RAZRMAX just a RAZR on steroids? That would be pretty much a subliminal statement saying the RAZR has a flawed design, one that the company will try to fix with a new version of the phone, at least for LTE markets. Gone will be the ultra-thin profile, as a larger battery would mean the phone will become somewhat thicker.
We’re counting on the RAZRMAX to be a totally different smartphone though, but until we can find out more details about it let us know how the battery of the RAZR performs. Can it get you through the day?
