$399 iPad 2 Deal Available from TJ Maxx Tomorrow?

Last year TJ Maxx surprised its customers ahead of Black Friday with a special, but totally unexpected iPad deal, $399 for the 16GB iPad Wi-Fi version (see image below). Sure the existing stock was depleted quite fast, but that certainly was the biggest discount on Apple’s tablet available at the time.

While customers hoped that TJ Maxx would pull off a similar stunt in time for this year’s Black Friday shopping holiday, this time featuring the iPad 2, that hasn’t happened and the biggest discount offered on new iPad 2 purchases was a “mere” $41-$61 available from Apple stores.

But those of you that have not purchased an iPad 2 yet and still have it on your Christmas gifts list will be happy to hear that TJ Maxx is finally ready to repeat its unique iPad offering. The Verge reports that the company will sell the 16GB iPad Wi-Fi for $399 tomorrow, although there’s no confirmation from the store yet. And this time around there are no photos showing an “official” ad featuring the promo price.

As expected, supply is said to be very limited, around 15 per store, so you should make sure you hit your local TJ Maxx store as early as possible and further enquire on the matter. In fact, if you manage to get your hands on a $399 iPad 2, let us know about it.

This is obviously a clever marketing campaign that will convince plenty of people to head to a TJ Maxx store tomorrow to see whether they can be among the lucky “winners” that will get to save $100 on the purchase of a brand new iOS tablet. Of course TJ Maxx intends to profit from the increased number of store visits, as some customers may end up buying non-iPad products tomorrow. After all the store is not an electronics retailer, but it’s only leveraging the popularity of the iPad 2 to draw some attention to the products it actually sells.
