Verizon Officially Announces Live FiOS TV For The Xbox 360
We heard about Verizon FiOS coming to the Xbox 360 back in September, and those details were later confirmed in early-October. And well, since then we have heard very little, but thankfully that quiet has passed with news of a release.

Yup, Verizon has come forward with news that the FiOS TV app will be available for the Xbox 360 beginning next month. Granted, it would have been a bit nicer to see something a bit more specific in terms of a release date however with next month beginning tomorrow — we suspect the release will come soon enough. Anyway, the details have been confirmed by way of the Verizon Support Forums where they state rather simply that;
“soon you can start using your Xbox consoles to watch live FiOS TV.”
Further details include how the FiOS TV app will be available “next month” and that it will launch with support for 26 channels. That being said, nothing further as to which 26 channels would be arriving. As to the requirements, those who wish to get started will need to have an Xbox 360 Gold membership. In addition, those who wish to get set up will also need to have both FiOS TV and FiOS Internet.
FiOS customers who subscribe to both FiOS TV and FiOS Internet and are Xbox LIVE Gold members can use their Xbox consoles to watch select live FiOS TV channels. No extra hardware. Plus, for the first time, Kinect for Xbox 360 will be integrated into the TV experience, allowing customers to use voice and gesture commands to control their TV viewing.
And lastly, those who are not yet Verizon FiOS customers and have been tempted to switch over — Verizon has a special triple-play service offer in place. The offer is valid from now until January 21, 2012 and includes FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 Mbps Internet and Verizon voice service. The price for this starts at $89.99 per month and while that sounds like a good deal as-is, Verizon is also including a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership and the “Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” game.
