Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard Looks To Give Tablets Extra Typing Power [Document Processing On An iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab Or Motorola Xoom Just Got A Whole Lot Easier With Verbatim's New Keyboard]

Our friends out at the Max Borges Agency tipped us off to the new Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard, and if you’ve ever tried to do word processing on a tablet, then you’re going to welcome hearing about this one.

It’s a fairly standard keyboard, sized particularly slim to keep up with the overall theme of the devices they’re geared to go with, but also bringing in a media console for running your various multimedia applications (there’s an enhanced volume control here, as well as some digital music-themed controls), some extra function keys to handle the frequently-used functions like copy and paste, an onboard rechargeable battery and soft-touch keys for added comfort.

It’s geared to work with the iPad and iPhone, as well as other Bluetooth tablets that support keyboards, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Motorola Xoom, so the popular tablets will be supported here as well as plenty of others. And if you want to pick one of these up yourself, you’ll be able to grab one out at Newegg for $49.99, which is a bit pricey for a keyboard, but considering that it’s geared toward improving your tablet functions, it makes some sense to have one. After all, if you’ve tried typing a document of any length on a touch screen–pretty much anything over a web address–you know it can be less than pleasant.

Still though, dropping that kind of money on a keyboard, even if it is for a tablet (especially when you consider some tablets already come with their own keyboards, like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and its slated successor the Transformer Prime) does seem a bit hard to swallow. But what do you guys think about the Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard? Figure that this will be a big help for all the tablet users out there? Or will the price tag scare them off after dropping the several hundred required to pick up a tablet in the first place? No matter what you think, we always like hearing from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think!
