LG Nitro HD Joins AT&T’s LTE Phone Lineup [AT&T Makes It Official Ahead Of LG's Expected Announcement On Thursday That The LG Nitro HD Will Join AT&T's Lineup Of LTE Devices]
Exciting news comes out of AT&T today, as word is the LG Nitro HD will be joining AT&T’s lineup of LTE devices, and you’ll be able to get one a lot sooner than you think. But considering that LG was looking to make an announcement on Thursday, did AT&T jump the gun? Or does LG have something else waiting in the pipe?

The happy news, of course, is that starting December 4th, you’ll be able to get your hands on the LG Nitro HD, which is reportedly AT&T’s version of the Optimus LTE. And this will pack some pretty nice features in its own right, including a 4.5 inch IPS display showing at 1280 x 720 resolution. This in turn is backed up by an eight megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for your videoconferencing needs, and a dual-core Qualcomm APQ8060 processor running at 1.5GHz.
It’s also set to be an LTE device, and you’ll be able to pick one up for $250 (with, not surprisingly, a two year contract) when it comes out, as I mentioned previously, December 4th.
But here’s the kicker–we’re getting this news now, but on Thursday, December 1st, LG was looking to make an announcement of its own. Of course, it’s entirely possible that LG’s got something else in mind to announce on that night, something that AT&T didn’t beat them to the punch on. In fact, I’m personally leaning in that direction myself, because while it’s entirely possible that AT&T could have accidentally spilled the beans three days ahead of schedule, it’s a fair bet that AT&T and LG alike have been keeping in contact about the tempo of press releases, so I’m leaning very much toward the idea that something else will hit that night.
Of course, there’s a chance here that AT&T just screwed up, but what do you guys think? Are you liking the look of the LG Nitro HD enough to lay hands on it when it hits in a week? Passing that one up for one of the many others out on the market? And do you think that AT&T dropped the ball and made an early announcement that LG was looking to make? Or do you think LG has something else waiting in the wings? No matter what you think about LG, AT&T, or the Nitro HD, we want to hear from you and the comments section is just the place to tell us what you think!
