Galaxy Nexus Volume Bug: Fix Reportedly Coming Next Week
A few days ago we learned that certain Samsung Galaxy Nexus buyers in Europe have experienced some strange issues with their brand new Ice Cream Sandwich or also described as a volume bug. The volume of the device would go to mute without any phone interaction from the user and some Galaxy Nexus users concluded the problem is directly linked to the phone switching to or maintaining a 2G connection.

According to SlashGear, both Samsung and Google are aware of the issues and they’re already working on a fix, but neither company is willing to share with the world why the problem occurs.
Moreover, it would appear that an Irish retailer told customers that a new batch of fixed Galaxy Nexus are arriving next week:
“The latest update is that Samsung is bringing new stock into Ireland and that it won’t be in until next week” the Nexus buyer was told by the retailer he ordered the Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone from. “It’s looking like they want to release stock that doesn’t have the fault.”
Therefore it would appear that Samsung has already found a way to fix the volume bug, which means we may be looking at a software issue that can be easily corrected with a patch, instead of a much more complicated hardware problem. We’re certainly speculating at this point, and it remains to be seen whether the volume bug will be fixed as easily and as fast as Samsung seems to have retailers convinced. And we’re certainly hoping that a fix is coming to Galaxy Nexus buyers that already experienced the problem.
The Galaxy Nexus is yet to be launched in the USA, with the latest release date rumored for December 9. Neither Verizon nor Samsung explained the launch delay, and Google is certainly being awfully quiet about the launch of what’s supposed to be the search giant’s latest flagship Android phone. Hopefully until the phone launches in North America the volume bug will go away.
Let’s hear it from European Galaxy Nexus buyers, have you experienced the volume issue so far?
