Steam's Autumn Sale Officially Underway

In less than two days, Americans will be flooding retail outlets across the country, hunting down the best deals that Black Friday has to offer. But why leave the house when you can just do all of your game shopping from your computer? Steam is asking the same question with the start of its autumn sale today, which sees a ton of games discounted by 50% or more.

When we say “a ton” we actually mean “Steam has over 1,600 specials right this minute!” Far, far too many deals for us to list here, but there are definitely some deals worth mentioning. For instance, Mass Effect 2 is only $4.99, and the digital deluxe edition of Mass Effect 2 is down to $7.49. The original Mass Effect is also only $4.99 today, so if you haven’t checked out the Mass Effect series yet, you can get all caught up and ready for Mass Effect 3 for just $10.

Additionally, Portal 2 has had its price slashed to $10.19, and the recently released Orcs Must Die comes in at a cool $3.74. Bulletstorm and Fallout: New Vegas are $9.99 each today, while the Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year editions will only set you back $14.99 each. If you’re more of “shoot everything that moves” kind of gamer, Call of Duty: Black Ops has been discounted by 50% and is currently at $29.99, while Duke Nukem Forever has hit the low price of $6.79, though I’m not sure I’d suggest buying it (even at that price).

That’s just the tip of the iceberg though, as there’s many other games on sale today. These special offers are only good for today, and tomorrow a new round of deals will shuffle into the spotlight. Steam’s autumn sale will run until November 27th, so we’ve got a few days of ridiculous deals left to go.
