iPhone 4S Already Second Most Popular Cameraphone on Flickr

On October 14 Apple launched the iPhone 4S in seven markets and then gradually rolled it out in various other markets, on October 28 and November 11. In the process Apple broke several sales records, the most notable being the 4 million iPhone 4S sales during the launch weekend alone.

Since then, demand for the iPhone 4S has been very high, with Apple and carrier partners not being able to keep up with it. In other words the iPhone 4S units are flying off the shelves faster than Apple can replenish stocks, not that we’re surprised to see another iPhone become a top-hit product in record time.

That’s why we’re also not surprised to hear that the iPhone 4S camera is quite popular too. According to recent stats, the iPhone 4S has already become the second most popular cameraphone on Flickr. In just five weeks the phone managed to surpass the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, although the top position is still held, by quite a margin, by the iPhone 4. Closing the top five we find an Android handset the HTC EVO 4G, a device launched in summer 2010.

Apple significantly improved the camera of its iPhone 4S by using a lens made of five elements to allow better pictures even in low-light conditions. The camera also features a larger f/2.4 aperture, LED flash, HDR support; offers 8-megapixel stills and records HD video clips. The iPhone 4S comes with a dedicated camera button, the volume up key, and iOS 5 now lets users take pictures straight from the lock screen. Moreover, picture editing is available right from the default camera apps, although there are plenty of other iOS apps that will let users further customize their pictures.
