Samsung Skyrocket (In White) Tipped For Release With AT&T [Leaked Image Suggests AT&T Will Be Releasing The Galaxy S II Skyrocket Smartphone In White, Possible Release Date Remains A Mystery]
AT&T launched the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket smartphone earlier in the month and at the time, the handset launched in the typical black exterior coloring. And well, based on a recently leaked image, it looks like AT&T may be gearing up to offer the Skyrocket in another color.

That color is likely easy to be guessed, white. Yup, based on the image it looks like those choosing to go with AT&T will soon have the option to pick the Skyrocket in either black and/or white. Of course, this tidbit of news comes with a disclaimer in that this has yet to be officially confirmed by AT&T. Instead, the details have come by way of the PocketNow blog who have uncovered the above image.
Otherwise, while we obviously still need the official word from AT&T in terms of a release date, there are a few things that will likely stay the same — the pricing and the specs. That being said, AT&T is currently selling the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket for $249.99 on a two-year agreement.
In terms of the specs, the Skyrocket is a 4G LTE capable handset and will arrive running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. And for those looking forward in terms of upgrades, Samsung has already confirmed that the Skyrocket will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, though that update will not be coming until sometime in early 2012.
Moving past the version of Android and into the hardware, the Skyrocket sports a 4.5 inch (480 x 800) Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording. In addition, those who purchase a Skyrocket can also expect to find 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1850 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and measurements of 5.15 x 2.75 x 0.37 inches with a weight of 4.65 ounces.
