Acer AC700 Chromebook Gets A Price Cut
The Acer AC700 Chromebook began shipping back in mid-July and at the time it was priced at $349.99. And while we would have considered that to be a fair price, it looks like things have gotten just a little bit better. Yup, the Acer Chromebook has been given a price cut.

The Acer Chromebook has dropped from $349.99 down to $299.99 and is available by way of Amazon. And nicely done, that product listing is “ships and sold by Amazon” which means you are not dealing with a third-party vendor. In addition, Amazon is also included free Super Saver Shipping.
In terms of specs, the Acer AC700 Chromebook is sporting an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, 16GB SSD and powered by a dual-core 1.66GHz Intel Atom N570 processor. In addition, the Acer Chromebook has 2GB of RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 and Wi-Fi connectivity.
As for the overall size and weight, the Chromebook measures in at 8.06 x 11.24 x 1 inch and weighs in at 3.19 pounds. The battery life is said to be up to 6 hours, though that may vary a bit in real world use.
Otherwise, the Acer Chromebook is one of the few Chrome OS running notebooks, which means it should be one to consider if you use many (or all) of the Google services and can handle living in the cloud. Bottom line here, the Chromebook is almost like having nothing more than a Chrome browser. And while that may sound limiting for some, that does come with perks such as fast boot times, never having to worry about updates and tight integration with Gmail, Google Docs and the other Google services.
With that, no mention as to whether or not this is going to be a permanent price drop or one that is only available for a limited time.
